Sometimes as comic readers we do get what we want!
I was a big fan of RUSE when it was coming out by crossgen (2001 - 2004). It featured Simon Archard, a victorian detective and his mysterious assistant Emma Bishop.
In a market overrun by spandex wearing heroes, RUSE was like a breath of fresh air, and it did not hurt to have a scribe like Mark Waid on the helm. Some of the mysterious tackled by Simon had a super-natural twist tying them to the overall storyline running in cross-gen titles.
RUSE however was canceled in 2004 due to Cross-gen bankruptcy. I had given up hope of ever seeing it again, but last summer MARVEL teased the return of Cross-gen as one of their imprint, which made me wish RUSE becomes one of the first titles to be resurrected.
And now Marvel has confirmed it! RUSE is coming back and so is Cross-gen in March -2011, along with another Cross-Gen title - SIGIL. And the best bit is Mark Waid is again on the writing duties.
YAY! Can't stop rubbing my hands in glee.. All I want now, is all the previous RUSE issues released by erstwhile crossgen in one thick volume to read before i start reading the Marvel one's..
Are you listening Marvel?

Marvel will do it. It seems to be on a roll...first acquiring prime brit property Marvelman/Miracleman....I heard they were going to release the classic golden age strips in the beginning at least...they said they would come down to the later stuff by Moore Gaiman et al eventually. But unless I miss my guess, weren't after a point, RUSE issues written by Scott Beatty?
The later stuff lost it's wonder flavour.
yup your are correct, the later issues were written by scott beaty and couldnt match upto Waid's!.. but Waid is coming back on RUSE.. so its all good in my book :)
