Before
getting on with the review, lemme ask you something:
Guess
what happens when one of the most versatile comic book writer of 21st
century collaborates with one of the most stylistic and awesome
artist on a major DC title?
The
answer's easy - the current BATMAN
reboot happens.
HISTORY
One
fine day, while surfing the net, I just came across a piece of news
that shook me or maybe it shook my room, or maybe the world might
have shook with the shakes inside the bodies of comic fans. The
column read- DC
Reboot
From
what I remember the DC guys saying that following the 'Flashpoint'
crossover, all the DC titles along with some new ones (totaling up to
52),
will be relaunched from September 2011.
Like
many others I too was both sad and extremely excited at the same
time. So the only thing I could do at that time was hoping for the
new ones to be as good as the it's predecessors. And on that point, I
gotta say, I was not disappointed. Here's a review of one of my
favorite character's relaunched comic.
I
got the #01 from a distant relative (uncle) of mine. The names-
Batman, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo were enough for me to read the
book.
The
print's awesome and so are the covers and variant covers.
Time
to move on to the important part.
THE
STORY
Issue
One opens up with Bruce Wayne narrating what Gotham is, the people,
the bad guys,etc.
The
next page opens up with a DPS(Double Page Spread) showing Bat's
villains. As usual, we see Bats kicking some good buttocks. And out
of the blue, Joker comes out and helps Bats kicking asses of the
other Arkham inmates!!!
Surprises
you, doesn’t it?
It's
later revealed that this 'Joker' is not the real Joker, it's Dick
Grayson with some awesome Bat-tech who was sent to Arkham for helping
out Batman with something(I ain't telling you that)
In
this issue, we are also introduced to some new characters like new
Mayoral candidate- Lincoln March.
Issue
2 deals with Bruce Wayne almost getting killed by a new mysterious
villain who seems way too tough and has one hell of a cool suit.
Issue
3 is one of my favorite so far. The first page begins with Alan
Wayne, Bruce Wayne's Great great grandfather running through the
streets and shouting for help, from something that's built 'nests' in
his home, when he suddenly falls down a manhole and dies due to
drowning.
Then
we see Bats searching for the 'Court of Owls', which he thinks
doesn’t exist, but surprisingly it does exist and then we see the
building in which Bats was is blown into shreds,
What
will happen? Will Batman survive? Will Batman survive ? These
questions have been haunting me for a whole month, but no more, issue
4 goes on sale on December 21,2011 !
WHY
IS IT SO GOOD?
Do
I even need to say this? Think about it- Batman, awesome new villain,
great action scenes and above all brilliantly written, drawn and
colored.
What
I especially love about Snyder is that he shows what Batman is
actually good at- his detective skills and some really good gadgets
and tech.
Other
than the writing, the art, is way too cool. The Bat-cave scenes, the
action and the emotions. Capullo does a full on justice to the book,
making it one of his best works till date.
MY
OPINION
I'll
give it a good 4.8/5.

waiting for? Go Grab It and enjoy the pure awesomeness!!!
