Aside from movies and video games what's the best way to feel like you're really apart of the comic book action? The answer: theme parks. True that it's really past theme park season right now, but Comic Addicts got wind of some attractions that are coming to a couple of theme parks that will get any comic geek giddy. So let the geek wanderlust take over your mind as we give you the low down on upcoming attractions.
First on the list is The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at Universal Studios in Florida. Yes we know it's not a new ride. The Amazing Advetures of Spider-Man has been a staple on Marvel Superhero Island over on the Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios. However, it has been announced that this year the ride will get an upgrade. The ride will be reanimimated 4K high definition film and will be using a new 3D Infitec projector. There is also going to be new sequences not seen before. Very web slinging cool!
Over at Universal Studios Hollywood in California there is work on a new Transformers 3D ride. The ride will be very much like the current Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man in that it's a simulator that puts you right in the middle of the action. Robert Niles of Theme Park Insider did a review of the ride which opened at Universal Studios in Singapore. To see what he thought of it read his review of Transformers: The Ride on his site: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201112/2770/. After reading that, this ride sounds so awesome! The last ride we got wind of is at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. It's called Lex Luthor's Drop of Doom. It will be attached to the Superman: Escape from Krypton tower and it will be the world's tallest, and fastest, drop ride. Lex's Drop of Doom will from riders from 400 feet at a rate of 80 mph. Leave it to Lex Luthor to have to be the biggest, fastest, and scariest. Sheesh! That is SO Lex Luthor. For more information on this ride visit Six Flags Magic Mountain site: http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/rides/LexLuthorDropOfDoom.aspx

In late spring Comic Addicts will tell you where you can go to experience and interact with your favorite comic characters at the theme parks.
What superhero themed ride have you been on?
