Welcome back to another new week of comics folks! Don't let us get in your way, let's jump right on into it:
I'd never heard of this series, not come across any info, news, teasers, promo's or any of the sheer mountain of promotional mediums that we are overloaded with for almost every big comic. That's probably because this is not that big a comic and not written by Grant Morrison or Brian Bendis.
“It’s here. It’s here.” I screamed, as I jumped for joy. The new Deadpool has arrived, and I’m back with you’re almost weekly dose of....The Good, The Bad and The Funny!
So quick recap: Ben's from across the multiverse are dying. And alternate Ben's girlfriend is here to save the day. Someone is killing the Ben’s. Who and why?

I'd never heard of this series, not come across any info, news, teasers, promo's or any of the sheer mountain of promotional mediums that we are overloaded with for almost every big comic. That's probably because this is not that big a comic and not written by Grant Morrison or Brian Bendis.
But any comic that
has an indestructible protagonist who lives like a hobo because he
likes to chill and enjoy life, takes on random jobs helping folks for
(almost literally) peanuts, has dreads and a Bob Marley-ish
chill going – AND when pissed off can punch a guy through his
family jewels and out the other end... well that comic not only has
my interest but owns it at this point!
A total gem, we get
a brilliant and excellently matched art and writing team here with
Lapham (Crossed, Terror Inc, Deadpool MAX) taking a
step away from his more familiar horror and dark roots (so it
seems... for the moment...) and brings in a more entertaining story
here – one that I believe is a project he's had on the burner for a
while.
If you like great
stories with exceedingly well developed characters and a unique
premise and narrative, this comic looks like it might be just that
very thing. I'm most definitely going to stick around for #2, I'd
suggest you do check this one out and join me in that line!

“It’s here. It’s here.” I screamed, as I jumped for joy. The new Deadpool has arrived, and I’m back with you’re almost weekly dose of....The Good, The Bad and The Funny!
The Good :
As you know if
you’ve been following this story-arc, (shame on you if you haven’t)
Deadpool has been injected with a serum that negates his healing
factor. Now Wade is mortal. Can’t heal, the cancer is probably
coming back too for all we know. All because he wants to be with his
lady love: Death. The story so far has been fast-paced, interesting
and full of madness. Just the way I like my Deadpool. So points for
the story. His plans are to get out of the city because Tombstone and
X-force are out to kill him, and Bob too. The art is as it always is.
Good action. Lots of humour. And a good fast read.
The Bad :
Wade is still
friggin' mortal. Not enough ACTION. Not enough Gore! Yeah that’s
it!
The Funny :
Now this issue is in
comparison a little less funny.
1) DP: “So, what.
You’re just going to give up?! Sit there an’ eat macaroni and
cheese?!”
Bob: “ oh. Look
who’s talking!”
DP: “Uh. I don’t
even like macaroni an’ cheese.”
2) Bob: “ I think
we lost him” (on running from tombstone) BANG BANG BANG!!!
3) Tombstone getting
smashed by a truck.
4) Bob telling pool
of after he tells him he’s doing this for a girl.
5) Wade actually
looks good without the costume..WTF?? ha ha ha ha!!
6) Nightcrawler
getting socked and confused
And many many more.
Yes I know I say this every time I review Deadpool, but it’s true
and you know it. The saga so far is excellent and I can’t wait for
more

Hell Yeah #3

So quick recap: Ben's from across the multiverse are dying. And alternate Ben's girlfriend is here to save the day. Someone is killing the Ben’s. Who and why?
The Good :
The story. Twisty,
weird, intriguing and leaves you wanting more. We found out last
issue that it’s Ben’s mom that has been killing of his
alternates. Now the story goes on to tell us what the bloody hell is
happening and how the girls landed up on this earth.
And a whole bunch of Ben's show up including a female called Benoit.
Lol. The art is still pretty good.
The Bad :
The story drags a
bit in this particular issue. Still confusing, but thankfully
clearing up. Although a little too slow for my liking.
The Funny :
The entry of the
Bens from the multiverse. Including what looks like a bat-mite
version of Ben.
The occasional
ramblings of Sara.
Val saying, “Do we
have superpowers? We totally have super powers.”
Still keeping my
interest. So I’ll give it a 7, that’s just because it dragged a
little.

Mystery In
Space #1 (One-shot)
(Vertigo)
Story : Some
of the best in the biz!
Art : More of
the best in the biz!
(Reviewed by
Anubhav DasGupta)
Mystery In Space is
a comicbook anthology of nine stories written and drawn by some of
the best in business.
So, before reading
through it, I opened my copy of the best comic anthology ever (AKA
Batman : Black and White) to make it a little harder
for me to enjoy.
But I found myself
loving the hell out of it. Sure, there are a few bad eggs, but most
of it is magnificent. And the creative talent does not disappoint. It
stands its own ground even when compared to a masterpiece such as
Batman : Black and White.
Michael Allred’s
(creator of Madman) story is definitely the standout
here, with amazing trippy visuals and a decent narrative even though
it is quite reminiscent of a “Creepypasta” story called “The
Egg” that I read a few months ago. I tweeted him (Allred) about
this but he say's he's never heard of it. Plagiarized or not, it
still is a magnificent tale, and the best one of the entire
anthology.
If any of these
stories were given their own miniseries, I’d totally follow them.
Some of these are SAGA-level good, and some of these almost touch
that level. Horse people, flying people, bio-mechanical creatures…
Mystery in Space has got it all. And the best part?
Almost every story is brilliantly executed.
Thing is, there is
only one story in the anthology that I didn’t want more of, and
that’s the one drawn by Kyle Baker. I’m loving his work on
Deadpool MAX but here, his work is just an eyesore.
It’s as if he’s channeling a very awful Dark Knight Strikes
era Frank Miller but without all the style or epicness.
If you can overlook
that awful eyesore of a story, this comic is a goddamn masterpiece.
Do read if you haven’t yet. And you might want to keep a tissue by
your side while reading it. For, you know, the drool and the other
bodily fluid (that I cannot mention on this site).
SCORE : 8.5 / 10
