Easter Eggs from The Avengers Movie

We've got more Avengers goodness for you today folks! After watching all the awesome Marvel movies, the one thing that stands out is that they're creating these movies like and for fans and there are loads of respectful nods, cameos, easter eggs and clever references in ALL of them.
With that in mind, we decided to watch The Avengers again (it was for you guys, research purposes – the first five times was... well... never mind) and found a bunch of little details that fit the bill:
Classic Fury LMD

Life Model Decoy: Tony Stark replies as his own LMD when Coulson tries to contact him. SHIELD and especially Nick Fury are famous for using LMDs all the time. To those unfamiliar with the concept, Lie Model Decoys are life-like Robot replicas that can take the place of actual person as a stand-in or literally : a decoy.

Odin’s Ravens: In the scene just before the battle between Iron Man and Thor happens in the forest, there are two ravens shown. These are most probably Huginn and Muninn, messengers and

There are tons of reviews out there and you can pick any one of them up and read them. But it won’t change the fact that you’ll be watching this film regardless (unless you’re an idiot, in which case, get back to your made-for-TV rom-coms). So why read this? Because it’s a review by a comic-book fan for a movie for comic fans (and others, sure...) directed by THE comic fan of our era.

The Future of Marvels Cinematic Universe post-Avengers

With the worlds first ever superhero crossover movie event -The Avengers - set to release tonight here in India (special midnight premier screening, don't bother we tried and it's sold out!), everyone is already talking about future marvel projects

The current line-up for Marvel Studios post avengers are as follows:
Iron Man 3 on May 3rd, 2013
Thor 2 on November 15th, 2013
Captain America 2 on April 4th 2014
Unnamed Marvel movie on May 16th 2014

The only spot left for Marvel Studios is May 16th 2014 so it would be interesting to see what is more to come up. It may be possible that they go with Incredible Hulk 2 as he is really stealing the spotlight in trailers and other clips.
There are other films in development at Marvel Studios as well - Dr Strange, Luke Cage/Heroes for Hire, Black Panther and of course Edgar Write being firmly attached to an Ant Man movie. Word came out on various websites that Marvel and Disney may go with three films a year, with a two of them releasing in summer and one releasing in the fall. Thor 2’s date was pushed forward because of the same reason and if the experiment is successful they can go ahead with three films per year.
Now let’s talk about the confirmed movies and speculation/rumours

The Definitive Collection of Pre-release Avengers Footage

In the past, there have been moments in Geek Culture that saw the world take notice and stand in awe. In terms of pure excitement, the release of The Phantom Menace was one. So was The Death of Superman, which got unprecedented media coverage. The inclusion of Watchmen into Time’s list of 100 best novels still makes us proud. More recently, the Christopher Nolan Batman movies have revolutionized the way Hollywood looks at Superheroes.
Come April, it appears we have potentially another such moment in our hands.
Unless you’ve been off-planet for the last half decade or so, you are aware of the upcoming The Avengers film, which hits Indian Theatres on the 27th of April, as a culmination of the four movies Marvel Studios has released so far.
Listed here is most of the pre-release footage from and related to the film currently available, for your nerdgasmic viewing pleasure.

Week-In-Review: Fairest #1 / Hell Yeah #1 / Irredeemable #35 / The Avengers Prelude: Fury's Big Week #5

We have four awesome new titles for you here folks, with four more to follow tomorrow! (It's been a huge week!) So no wasting time - let's get to it!
Fairest #1 (Vertigo)
Story : Bill Willingham
Art : Phil Jiminez, Andy Lanning (Inks) and Andrew Dalhousie (colors)
(Reviewed by: Anubhav DasGupta)
Fables, in my opinion, is one of the best ongoing comic books at the moment. While I haven’t loved each and every issue, there hasn’t been one that I’ve hated even a little. Bill Willingham has created a universe too charming and wonderful and sexy to be disliked by anyone. Fairest is a spinoff of Fables, but I don’t think you need to be a regular reader of Fables to enjoy the issue that I’m reviewing. One issue in, Fairest has got nothing to do with the current story arc in Fables, and it’s amazingly enjoyable.

The Lord of the Avengers

One of the great things about being a geek is that it is very easy to draw parallels between our various interests. Having said that there is quite a bit of buzz about two upcoming films. The first is The Avengers and the other is The Hobbit.

Having said that we here at Comic Addicts got to thinking how many similarities there were between the characters of The Avengers and the well known group from The Fellowship of the Ring. It's was actually quite stunning. In fact, we gave the Fellowship an Avenger identity based on the personality they matched best. Here is what we came up with:

Gandalf is Nick Fury. Why? Gandalf hand picked his team and brought them together for a specific mission. He knew the skills of each and ever member. Ultimately everyone in the Fellowship follow Gandalf's lead.

Frodo is Captain America. Why? He's a small town kid who desperately wants to do good. He wants to make a difference and get a taste of adventure. He's niave and inexperienced, but possess a heart bigger than his size. He is also willing to sacrifice himself for the overall good of the team. He even becomes a point of inspiration as the journey goes on.

NOTES AND SCREENGRABS FROM THE AVENGERS TRAILER

So yes, finally on the 11th of October 2011, Marvel has released the first theatrical trailer for the Avengers.
If you have been living under a rock the size of Switzerland, you can check it out down here.
  • We know Nick Fury has some kind of information on an impending threat either from Loki or someone else in a sequel, which is why he starts assembling the team.
Yeah, I'll take a Royale with cheese... (Click to enlarge awesome-ness!)
  • The general tone Mark Ruffalo’s Banner is being handled with seems similar to Norton’s, which will hopefully make this transition a lot smoother.
FML! (Click to enlarge awesome-ness!)
  • ScarJo farts fire.
